Galena Farmers and Crafters Market Grand Opening

April 30th, 2011

Farmer's Market

The Galena Farmers and Crafters Market kicked off its first season this past weekend. There was a great turnout Friday for the opening day. Plants and flowers were a big seller. One vendor did so well she had to pot several plants Friday night in order to sell again on Saturday! A few of the other vendors included crafts such as jewelry, walking sticks and photography. More vendors are needed for spring produce including lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage and onions. For more information on how to join call Debbie Bridges at 417-559-1089 or Connie Johnson at 417-357-6061. For $10 you can sell all summer long!

Music promoter and musician Paul Jones of PJ Jones did an excellent job of organizing the entertainment Saturday. The musicians were all from the Country Gospel Music Association of Branson, MO. Some hailed from as far as the Kansas City area.

We look forward to a great summer. It is exciting to see the community come together to help provide fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods and local crafts for our community and visitors alike. And once a month on Saturday’s we can all enjoy some family entertainment!
